2.3.1.7. Check of the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid

GENERAL INFORMATION

The sensor of temperature informs the management equipment on engine temperature. Depending on this temperature the regulator of a diaphragm establishes its situation. In case of damage of the sensor of temperature there can be difficulties at engine start at low temperature as the diaphragm will not be completely closed.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1) remove a plug from the sensor of temperature and measure its resistance. At temperature +20 ° With it should equal 2000–3000 Ohm
2) connect a plug to the temperature sensor, start the engine and warm up it to normal working temperature
3) muffle the engine, repeat measurement of resistance which at temperature +90 ° With should equal 200–300 Ohm

Resistance changes depending on temperature are presented on graphics.

Resistance of the sensor
It is in details possible to make check of the sensor of temperature, placing it in a vessel with water and gradually warming up it. At the moment of heating of water to the corresponding temperature, measure resistance of the sensor.

In case of difference in the measured sizes, it is necessary to replace the temperature sensor.
