2.3.1.9. Check of a potentiometer of a throttle

GENERAL INFORMATION

The potentiometer of a throttle displays each time the provision of a throttle and its change. During acceleration, the equipment of management receives information on how quickly and on what corner the butterfly valve is inclined. The closed throttle informs the management equipment on engine further work idling.

Measurement of resistance of a potentiometer of a throttle


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1) take a plug with the wires feeding a potentiometer
2) measure all resistance of a potentiometer between the terminations 1 and 3. The normal amount should equal: 1.4–1.6 kiloohm
3) start the engine and leave it to idle
4) remove the pipeline of removal of air between a regulator of provision of a throttle and the filter of system of airing. From the filter establish a cap. For this purpose it is possible to use bolts of the corresponding diameter
5) muffle the engine. The butterfly valve should close a mouth completely
6) measure resistance between the terminations 1 and 2 potentiometers and at the same time reject a butterfly valve before situation "full gas". Resistance should decrease smoothly to initial size of 1.4-2.4 kiloohms at the "closed" butterfly valve to size less than 270 Ohm in situation of "complete opening" butterfly valve
7) take out a cap from the pipeline of removal of air and put on the pipeline the union at the air filter
8) connect a plug to a potentiometer
