Replacement of cooling liquid

System of cooling of Audi cars of all models are filled at manufacturer with a water and antifreeze (G 11) mix with anticorrosive additives. Such cooling mix can be used all the year round.

Antifreeze not containing phosphates increases frost resistance, prevents corrosion and scaling, and, besides, raises a boiling point. Increase of a boiling point of cooling liquid improves operational parameters at work with the maximum loading, especially in tropical conditions.

At replacement of cooling liquid in Audi cars of all models irrespective of a year of release it is necessary to fill system of cooling with antifreeze ZVW237 102 not containing phosphates.

Prevention

When the engine is heated-up to normal working temperature, level of cooling liquid in a broad tank should be a little higher than maximum label. When the engine cold, level of cooling liquid in a broad tank should be between minimum and maximum labels.

It is forbidden to touch fan blades. The fan can spontaneously turn on at timer operation. In a warm motor compartment the cycle of turning on of the fan can repeatedly repeat after an engine stop.


Automatic turning on of the fan after an engine stop

Modern cars are equipped with system of automatic start of the fan for cooling of a gasoline pipe line and injectors after an engine stop that facilitates the subsequent start-up of the hot engine.

Principle of work of system

If the temperature in space of a motor compartment after a stop of the engine is higher 110 ° With, the thermoswitch includes a timer which in turn turns on the fan.

When the temperature becomes lower 103 ° With, the relay disconnects the fan. Such cycle can repeatedly repeat, throughout 10–12 minutes.

It is mounted on an arm which fastens to a block head between the 1st and 2nd cylinders (from an injector).

Timer

Timer
